Abstract

Distance language teaching and the inclusion of learners with dsa: a survey of language teaching practices activated during the COVID-19 emergency

The present paper stems from a survey on distance language teaching practices employed by a sample of more than 1.500 Italian language teachers and tutors during the first months of the COVID-19 emergency period. Specifically, this paper focuses on the issues related to the inclusion of students with Specific Learning Differences (SpLD) in distance language education. The data were collected by means of a questionnaire and analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. After briefly introducing the socio-educational and scientific context of the survey, the paper outlines the research design and discusses some key results regarding the experience of both the language teachers and the tutors who supported learners with SpLD during the health emergency.
