Abstract

How to aid morphosyntax of the Italian noun phrases: a comparision between glottodidactic processes for English-speaking students.

A few aspects of the Italian language are particularly difficult for English-speaking students. One of them, according to studies in un-guided contexts and based on teachers’experiences, is the morphological agreement between gender and number in noun phrases.

This article proposes to reflect on the results of three didactic experiences conducted with English-speaking university students in L2 contexts, where the subject under study was presented and practiced in different ways and times.

From the analysis of the data of these experiments, we will offer a few suggestions to facilitate the teaching and acquisition of an aspect of Italian morphosyntax which is problematic for these learners.
