To anthologize is a cultural technique, comprising a set of symbolic and self-referential operations that inherently justify themselves, elevating their choices to content. However, if the content of an anthology determines the anthology itself, it is also true that an anthology transforms what it contains. These transformations vary depending on the cultural paradigms towards which those who compile and arrange the anthology are oriented. This essay explores three paradigms that have shaped the period around the turn of the millennia: the museum, the atlas, and enchantment.
