Alessandro Cazzato is highly regarded in Italy and abroad as a violinist specializing in both classical and contemporary repertoire. In 2017 he made his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York with works by P. A. Locatelli, C. Sivori, and N. Paganini.

He has performed numerous solo concerts for prestigious Italian and international institutions, including: Carnegie Hall (New York), the New York Philharmonic Biennial, Spectrum NYC, Abrons Arts Center NYC, the Italian Cultural Institute of New York, the St. Martin-in-the-Fields Concert Series (London), the Royal Academy of Music (London), Théâtre de Valère (Sion), LAC Lugano, the Euro Arts International Music Foundation, the Grosser Saal Gürzenich and the Hochschule für Musik (Cologne), the Universidad de las Artes (Buenos Aires), the Centre for Contemporary Arts (Glasgow), the "Mihail Jora" Philharmonic Orchestra of Bacău, the International Festival "Il Suono Italiano," the Universidade de Aveiro, Casa da Música (Porto), the SKG Bridges Festival (Thessaloniki), Milano Classica, the "Estate Musicale" Festival in Mantua, the Camerata Musicale Barese, Teatro Petruzzelli, the Valle d'Itria Festival, the Goethe-Institut Rome, the Lucca International Festival, the University of Rome Tor Vergata, CIDIM (Italian Music Committee), and SIMC (Italian Society for Contemporary Music).

He began his violin studies with Franco Cristofoli. He graduated and completed advanced studies with distinction under the guidance of Franco Mezzena and Felix Ayo. Awarded a scholarship by the Gustav Mahler Academy (chaired by Claudio Abbado), he attended master classes with distinguished members of the Berliner Philharmoniker. He specialized in String Instrument Pedagogy at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano. He is the winner of numerous national and international music performance competitions. His repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary music. As a soloist he has recorded violin concertos by Vivaldi and J. S. Bach, and he collaborates with the record label Tactus, for which he has recently recorded: the CD "Re-writings" (featuring world-premiere recordings of solo violin works by contemporary composers); the complete "Duets for Two Violins" by Felice Giardini (1716–96), in world-premiere recording; and the complete solo works by Goffredo Petrassi.

Having graduated with distinction and earned an advanced degree in Literature and Modern Philology, he is also the author of musicological and literary essays. His publications include: The Magic Lantern. Pathways of Music and Literature from Euripides to Stravinsky (La lanterna magica. Percorsi di Musica e Letteratura da Euripide a Stravinskij, Zecchini, 2016), Crossing Music. Interdisciplinary Studies on the Languages of Contemporary Music (Crossing Music. Giovanni Pascoli, Florestano, 2018), and The Violin Quartet (Il Quartetto di Violini, work in progress, 2020). He has contributed to leading specialized journals, including "A tutto Arco" (ESTA), "Rivista Musica", "Rivista Fronesis", "Rivista Incroci", the Annals of the University of Bari, and the Quaderni of the "U. Giordano" Conservatory of Foggia. Since 2019 he has directed the music series "ViolinisticaMente", dedicated to musical production and pedagogy for the violin.

He is actively engaged in artistic and musical research. He is regularly invited to give lecture-recitals for leading research institutions, including: EPARM (European Platform for Artistic Research in Music), London; the "Xperimus Conference", Porto; the "Music Diaries" Conference, Thessaloniki; the "Sound Thought" Festival, Glasgow; the University of Rome Tor Vergata; and the NYC Electroacoustic Music Festival, New York.

He is also devoted to teaching, regularly holding advanced violin masterclasses and seminars on the relationship between music and literature in Italy and abroad (Argentina, Portugal, Greece, etc.). He is regularly invited to serve on the juries of international music performance competitions and is the artistic director of the "Archimie" Music Association, as well as holding the violin professorship and serving as Coordinator of the Violin School at the "Niccolò Piccinni" Conservatory of Music in Bari.
