Abstract

The article examines a part of the cinematographic collaborations of Gian Carlo Fusco, one of the most famous Italian journalists in the period from the 50s to the 70s: his commentaries for various “mondo movies” are under scrutiny as well as his participation (as a screenwriter and sometimes as an actor) in genre films (comedies, detective stories, etc.), Some unrealized projects are also considered in the article. Through the examination of these films, the article highlights the links with the journalistic and literary activity of Fusco and highlights the attitude with which this writer approached the cinema.
