Paolo Caponi (a cura di), Università degli Studi di Milano

Paolo Caponi (Varese, 1967) graduated at the University of Milan in 1995 and held a doctorate in English Studies at the University of Venice. He is currently research fellow at the University of Milan where he teaches English Drama and Culture. He published: Adultery in the High Canon. Forms of Infidelity in Joyce, Beckett and Pinter (Milano, Unicopli, 2002) and Bambole di carne. Lolita prima e dopo il romanzo (Pisa, ETS, 2008).

Giovanni Iamartino (a cura di), Università degli Studi di Milano

Giovanni Iamartino is Professor of the History of English at the University of Milan, and the current chair of AIA, the Italian Society for the Study of English. Iamartino’s research focuses on the history of Anglo-Italian relations and on the history of English lexicography. His publications in the latter field include journal articles and book chapters on Johnson, Baretti, Willson’s The Soldier’s Pocket-Dictionary (1794), Cleland’s The Dictionary of Love (1753), Dunton’s The Ladies Dictionary (1694), the relationship between lexicography and translation, and lexicographers as censors. Most recently he co-edited a monograph issue of the journal Language and History entitled "Towards a History of the English Normative Tradition". 

David Newbold (a cura di), Università Ca' Foscari, Venezia

David Newbold is a researcher and lecturer in English language at the University of Venice Ca’ Foscari. He has a longstanding interest in language testing and language teaching methodology, and has published numerous materials and tests for learners of English. His publishers include OUP, Longman, Heinemann, Macmillan and Zanichelli. His current research interest is the development of English as a lingua franca, particularly as manifested in attitudes towards the language and choices facing non native writers using English.
