In an essay from the late 1970s on the philosophy of William of Ockham, Mario Dal Pra does not seem to confine himself to a purely academic analysis, but rather draws on his own personal experiences in the Second World War. Reflecting on that interweaving of ideas is almost like the memory of a memory that can still tell us something about Ockham, about Dal Pra, and perhaps about ourselves.
