The article addresses the concept of the deterritorialization of language in the thought of Deleuze and Guattari, focusing in particular on the works they wrote during the 1970s. Within their theoretical paradigm, language is indeed the specificity of the human, but also that which separates it from life, preventing contact with the dimension of immanence. The article shows how the response proposed by these authors is not an exit from language, but rather the task of handling it and forcing it to its limits, first and foremost within literature and artistic practices. The article’s trajectory moves through various concepts that accompany deterritorialization – becoming-minor, collective enunciation, flight, subtraction – eventually arriving at the particular form of deterritorialization internal to language itself: stuttering.
