Aims and Scope

Archivio Storico Lombardo publishes high-quality scholarly research on the history of Milan and Lombardy, from antiquity to the present day, as well as studies exploring their connections with broader historical contexts. Contributions may adopt a variety of disciplinary and methodological approaches.

Submissions should engage with current historiography and offer an original contribution to the field. The use of primary sources is strongly encouraged, provided they are critically analyzed and properly contextualized. Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.
Authors unsure whether their work falls within the journal’s scope are encouraged to submit a preliminary proposal including a title, a brief description, and an outline of sources and historiographical context.
