Abstract

The tortricid fauna of Sardinia (Italy) is presently composed of 185 taxa, 28% of the Italian fauna. The zoogeographical analysis, by the chorological categories of the species known from the Island, shows that the fauna is characterized by a high percentage of widely diffused taxa: most of them are thermophilous species. Among the tortricids with an European distribution, a good group of moths has a south-European chorology, while several ones are diffused in Mediterranean areas. There are several endemic elements which have a great importance from a zoogeographic point of view.
