Abstract
In the present paper the results of various observations and studies on ten white flies (Homoptera, Aleyrodidae), noxious to the economie plants in Italy, are set out. The treated species are: Aleurolobus olivinus (Silv.), Aleurothrixus floccosus (Mask.), Aleyrodes elevatus Silv., A. proletella L., Asterobemisia carpini (Koch), Bemisia hancocki Corb., B. tabaci (Genn.), Dialeurodes citri (Ashm.), Siphoninus phillyreae (Hai.) and Trialeurodes vaporariorum (Westw.).
For each of them notes are given on the taxonomic arrangement, pupa-case morphology, geographical distribution, biology, ecology and economie importance in relation to the infested plants. Moreover the damages caused by these insects to the cultivated plants are here illustrated, as well as the devices for the contro! of their populations. At last, in order to give a means for a quick identification of the mentioned species, a key based on the morphological characteristics of pupa-cases is given.
