Abstract
Observations made in 1981 and in 1982 in Piacenza area (North Italy) pointed out that Suillia univittata (von Roser) presents two generations for year. The first one, in Spring, injures garlic (Allium sativum L.); the second one, in Autumn, develops on truffle (Tuber magnatum Pico).
It is described the ethologic behaviour of fly on both hosts and the damages caused. Furthermore it is given the morphologic description of its development stages with particular reference to male genitals. An analytic key is set up to compare truffle hosts Suillia spp. presently known.
