Rote of Mirids (Rhynchota Heteroptera) in the control of Trialeurodes vaporariorum Westw. (Rhynchota Aleyrodidae). Preliminary note

Abstract

Distribution on the territory and predacious activity against Trialeurodes vaporariorum of the Mirids Macrolophus caliginosus, Nesidiocoris tenuis, and Dicyphus errans were investigated in greenhouses and fields of the Ligurian Western Riviera with the aim to employ them in integrated and biological control programmes. M. caliginosus appeared very effective on tornato outdoor in the Albenga plain. N. tenuis, until now never reported for northern Italy, resulted very active on tornato and zucchini in greenhouse at Diano Marina. D. errans, found outdoor on tornato at Albenga with scarce population, hitherto did not allow the exact evaluation of its trophic behaviour.
