Rearing methods for predacious Diptera of genus Medetera (Diptera Dolichopodidae)

Abstract

Three different rearing methods for predacious Diptera of genus Medetera Fisher von Waldheim (Dolichopodidae), found in greenhouses in Lombardia - Italy, are described. The first one is the modification of the method already used to rear Coenosia Meigen (Diptera Muscidae). The others have come from the necessity to resolve some questions arose during the test and also to simplify much more the alimentary chain to make much more easy an eventual mass rearing.
