Abstract
More than sixty species of sawflies have been found in the Cansiglio Forest (the Camic PreAlps) during entomological researches on non-faunistic subjects. The diversity of the collected amount reflects the abundance of nichcs existing in the studied area, mostly as regards the wide central plain : indeed , several species usually connected with communities of open biotopes at different altitudes also live in that prairie, so showing the rich complex of favourable conditions offered to phyllophagans by the concerned grassy environment. Ten species have been detected on Picea ahies, which in the Forest grows at the south- westen borders of its natural range; other sawflies are likely to be found on spruce by planning a special research . Among other things, the capture of Pristiphora leucopodia (first undoubtedly quoted in ltaly) is of interest.
