Poetry, society, imaginary in the system of culture and production

Abstract

The introduction summarizes the main issues addressed in the second edition of the Annual Seminar on Contemporary Poetry (2020): the relationship between poetry, history, society, and the system of culture; the connection between poetry and the cultural social imaginary, in terms not of passive reception but of interaction; and the dynamics of the production and reception of poetry, in a horizon no longer mediated by the book but increasingly by the web.
