The essays present the results of the fifth Seminar on Contemporary Italian Poetry, held at the University of Verona from November 30th to December 1st, 2023. Taking as main focus the relationships between poetry and critical prose, the contributions analyze some crucial although little-investigated aspects of the poetics of a few authors from the second half of the twentieth century to the extreme contemporary (Emilio Villa, Mario Luzi, Cristina Campo, Carlo Bordini, Umberto Fiori, Ann Cotten), and the ways in which these are configured in their respective contexts, responding to historical issues, theoretical reflections and aesthetic features.
