Abstract

Translation of a part of Michail Bachtin's article Nevel’skaja škola filosofii i kul’turnaja istorija ’20-ch gg. (Nevel' 's philosophical school and the cultural history in the twenties), edited by V. L. Machilin, in Bachtinskij sbornik (Moskva 2004). The book tries to retrace the story of non official (non marxist) critic to the formal method during the Tewenties, by a rich bibliographical documentation who include letters, journal articles and book reviews edited between 1921 and 1930 and written by  intellectuals, theoreticians, poets and philosophers as Vladislav Chodasevič (1886-1939), Vjačeslav Ivanov (1866-1949), Andrej Belyj (1880-1934) and Michail Bachtin (1895-1975).
