Street-level Bureaucrats and integration of migrants: Between regulation and implementation

Abstract

The article deals with the issue of how street-level bureaucrats have adapted and reacted to the difficulties caused by the changes in social policy, and in particular in migration policy, which have been introduced by policymakers. These changes were essentially characterised by the cut in social spending. The subject was approached through the empirical analysis carried out by the Author with two researches in as many Italian contexts, thanks to which it was possible to compare and highlight the commonalities and differences of the street-level bureaucrats of the two territories
