In recent years, digital platforms have taken on a central role in the construction and dissemination of diasporic identities. This contribution focuses on forms of self-representation within the Latin American community in Italy, based on a selection of short videos published on TikTok and Instagram. The aim is to explore, through a critical analysis of multimodal discourse and a qualitative approach to digital communication, how Latino content creators narrate their migration experiences by staging a materiality articulated through bodies, spaces, and everyday objects in an act of mediating their Hispanic identity within the Italian context. The findings highlight how material elements acquire narrative and symbolic functions, serving as devices of memory, tools for cultural negotiation, and vehicles of belonging, hybridity, and resistance. In line with the premises of the material turn, digital narratives thus offer an alternative interpretation of materiality as a driver of narrative meaning in cultural, affective, and political terms.
