Resumen

The essay aims to explore the thought and work of Wilhelm von Humboldt (1767-1835) referring to the concept of utopia. Humboldt is known for his studies on Language, Philosophy, Aesthetics and Political Philosophy, but he is not considered a utopian thinker. Through the analysis of his mains works and his main ideas (language as organism, unity and diversity etc.) the essay tries to demonstrate that his work can be read as utopian. In his work utopia is not be considered as the project of a future better world, but as paradigm of knowledge (Denkform), intentional concept that pushes the man to educate himself and to work on the present.

Isabella Ferron, Università degli Studi di Padova

Isabella Ferron è assegnista di ricerca presso l’Istituto Italiano di Studi Germanici (IISG), Roma e docente a contratto di Lingua tedesca presso il Dipartimento di Studi Linguistici e Letterari (DISLL) e di Beni Culturali (DBC) dell'Università di Studi di Padova. Ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca presso la Ludwig-Maximilliams-Universität di Monaco di Baviera. Tra le pubblicazioni si segnalano le monografie ‘Sprache ist Rede’. Ein Beitrag zur dynamischen und organizistischen Sprachauffassung Wilhelm von Humboldts (2009), L’officina dello scrivere. Il carteggio di Alexan-der von Humbolt (2018) e il saggio Elias Canettis Idee der Sprache und der Literatur. Überlegungen in Die Blendung und die Stimmen von Marrakesch (in «Prospero.
