Abstract

The text explores the philosophical concepts of existence, conflict, and harmony, drawing on ideas from thinkers like Heraclitus, Parmenides, and Wittgenstein. It argues that while conflict (πόλεμος) is a natural part of life's events, it is not its essential nature. True existence lies in the hidden harmony of being (κατὰ οὐσίαν), beyond mere occurrences. The search for this deeper harmony, coexisting with other species and seeking peace among humans, is considered the highest aim of philosophical inquiry. This exploration is rooted in what Aristotle termed "first philosophy," focused on understanding life in its most fundamental aspect. The text also addresses the unique human capacity for conflict, shaped by the tools and technologies we create, which impact not only
ourselves but all living beings. It emphasizes the duality of existence as both conflict and harmony, urging a reflection on our role within the world of life (Lebenswelt).
