Towards a Phenomenology of Necropolitics in Latin
America: Indigenous Peoples Amid Ethnocide, Juvenicide,
Ecocide, and Biocentric Resistance
The article aims to analyse the multiple manifestations of necropolitics in Latin America, with particular attention to Indigenous peoples and individuals whose lives are threatened by policies of alienation, material and symbolic precarization, territorial dispossession, militarization, and environmental degradation. Through an interdisciplinary approach that combines political philosophy and sociology, the article specifically examines various forms of ethnocide such as juvenicide and ecocide, while also highlighting resistance dynamics rooted in biocentric and relational worldviews. These perspectives invite a rethinking of democracy as a practice of care for living beings and as a regime of ecological, social, and political justice.
