The present study examines the epigraphic documentation related to the paean in honor of Dionysus composed by the poet Philodamus of Scarphea, preserved at the Archaeological Museum of Delphi. The autoptic analysis conducted on the materials has clarified which of the surviving fragments can be with certainty attributed to the paean, thereby contributing to the establishment of a reliable text and a reconstructive hypothesis of the stele. The epigraphic analysis has also allowed for the verification of certain readings that were problematic due to the poor state of preservation of the stone, enabling an update of the editions proposed by Weil and Vallois.
