The paper discusses three exceptional vases found in Tarquinii in 1874. The discovery, the typology, the decoration, and the inscriptions are analyzed to define their chronology to the first half of the 7th century BC and the possible cultural references of those who produced them. The recognition of unusual exotic animals in the scene engraved on one of them suggests a more or less direct connection with Nubia, which during this period takes control of the Nile delta.
