Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

  • The manuscript, written in Italian, French, or English, must be sent to the following address: biblioteca.artificiale@unimi.it.
  • Authors may submit their contribution in any academic format or layout. Manuscripts can be provided as single or multiple files. They may be Word or PDF files. Figures and tables can be inserted in the text or sent as separate documents. Figures must have sufficient resolution to allow proper review.
  • The contribution should be structured in the following order: Title; list of authors with affiliations; abstract; keywords; main text; acknowledgments; conflict of interest statement; references; appendices (if any).
  • References may follow any style or format, as long as a consistent academic citation style is applied. Essential elements include: author name(s), journal or book title, article or chapter title, year of publication, volume and issue (where applicable), and page numbers. All references must have a corresponding citation in the text. Adding DOI (Digital Object Identifier) numbers is recommended.
  • Figures must be of high quality (1200 dpi for line drawings, 600 dpi for grayscale, and 300 dpi for color, at the correct dimensions). Figures should be provided in one of the following formats: JPEG, TIFF, or Microsoft Word (DOC or DOCX).
  • Tables should present new information rather than duplicating content already in the text. Readers should be able to interpret the table without referring to the text. Please provide editable files.
  • A typical article for this journal should be between 15,000 and 30,000 characters.
  • All authors of a manuscript must indicate their full name and affiliation on the manuscript cover page. Where available, please also include ORCiD and social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn). One author must be identified as the corresponding author. Author affiliations refer to the institutions where the research was conducted. If any co-author changes affiliation during the peer-review process, the new affiliation may be indicated as a footnote. Please note that no changes to affiliations can be made after the article is accepted.
  • After the peer-review (pre-publishing) and editing process, the author will have the opportunity to review their contribution (for typos only). Note that, regardless of the original submission file format, an editable version of the article must be provided during the revision stage.
