Abstract

The Comics often have used the ancient history at various levels to make it sometimes protagonist sometimes a simple background of their narratives.
In this article, not representing a treatment concerning the history of comics, it will be introduced some examples of comics and webcomics taking place especially during the Roman Empire. The comics will be in some cases a simple educational vehicle or even ideological and propagandistic message bearer, or just an excuse to give an exotic environment and refined to the stories told. A journey from past to future where historically and archeologically reliable elements are mixed with other completely fictional, but in such a way to evoke a memory, an emotion that recalls ancient civilizations.
