Miscellanea section

DigitCult – Scientific Journal on Digital Cultures invites scholars to submit original, unpublished contributions for the Miscellanea section of Volume 11, Issue 2, scheduled for publication in December 2026.

The journal welcomes theoretical, methodological, and empirical contributions that align with its scope and contribute to contemporary debates on digital cultures, technological innovation, and social transformations.

Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:

  • digital cultures, practices, and communities;
  • digital media and platforms;
  • technological innovation and social change;
  • artificial intelligence and cultural processes;
  • digital communication, participation, and citizenship;
  • digital cultural heritage;
  • Digital Humanities;
  • Library and Information Science;
  • digital archives, libraries, and collections;
  • the production, circulation, and preservation of digital content;
  • education, learning, and digital literacies;
  • digital research methods;
  • the ethics, inclusion, accessibility, and sustainability of technologies;
  • interdisciplinary approaches and practice-based research in the field of digital cultures.

This list is not exhaustive. Interdisciplinary submissions and contributions adopting innovative theoretical or methodological perspectives are particularly encouraged.

About the journal

DigitCult is an international academic journal published by Milano University Press under the Diamond Open Access model. All published articles are freely accessible, and authors are not required to pay submission fees or article processing charges.

The journal is included in the Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research Institutes — ANVUR — lists of scientific journals for Area 14, Political and Social Sciences, and Area 11, History, Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology.

DigitCult is also indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals — DOAJ — and Google Scholar. Each published article is assigned a DOI.

Submission guidelines

Manuscripts may be submitted in English or Italian.
Submissions must:

  • be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal;
  • have an approximate length of 40,000 characters, including footnotes.;
  • include an abstract of no more than 250 words and an appropriate set of keywords;
  • follow APA Style, seventh edition;
  • be fully anonymised for peer review.

Manuscripts must be uploaded through the journal’s OJS platform by 20/10/2026. Authors should select the “Articles” section and state in the comments to the editors that the submission is intended for Vol. 11, No. 2 — December 2026.

Review process

All submissions will undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their consistency with the journal’s aims and scope and their compliance with its basic scientific and editorial requirements.

Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial screening will undergo double-blind peer review by at least two anonymous reviewers.

  • Submission deadline: 2026/10/20
  • Notification following the first review round: 2026/11/20
  • Revised manuscripts due: 2026/12/5
  • Publication of the issue: December 2026
