About the Journal
Focus and Scope
DigitCult@Scientific Journal on Digital Cultures is an international academic journal that publishes articles under the Diamond Open Access model, which undergo double-blind peer review.
The journal aims to highlight international research and present the current debate on digital culture, technological innovation, and social change. DigitCult, taking into account the increasingly pervasive diffusion of digital cultures and their social impacts, intends to study the processes of transformation and innovation within different disciplinary traditions, also in relation to the design of new digital models, both in the field of Social Sciences and Media Studies as well as in that of Library and Information Science and Digital Humanities. DigitCult aims to discuss key issues in both theoretical and empirical research.
Digitcult is structured into two sections: a monographic section and a miscellaneous section.
The monographic section is dedicated to specific themes and brings together contributions that address the same topic from different theoretical and methodological perspectives.
The miscellaneous section, on the other hand, features works not tied to a specific call for papers. All articles published in both sections undergo a peer-review process using a double-blind review system.
DigitCult has the ISSN number 2531-5994. A DOI is assigned to each paper.
Single articles and full issues can be freely downloaded in PDF format from the Web platform.
The articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).
There are neither paper submission charges nor processing charges for authors.
The journal is currently published by Milano University Press, the digital, open-access publishing house of the University of Milan, following earlier publication by Aracne Editrice (Vol. 1, No. 1, 2016 – Vol. 6, No. 1, 2021) and tab edizioni (Vol. 7, No. 1, 2022 – Vol. 10, No. 2, 2025).

Articles are subject to a double-blind peer review process, involving at least two anonymous reviewers.
