The Living Book. Increasing the Reading Experience through Digital Resources

A European Project for Young Readers and Educators

Abstract

This article describes the ongoing project The Living Book - Augmenting Reading for Life, funded by the Erasmus+ Program, that involves institutions from 6 European countries that aspire to foster the interest for reading among students aged 9 to 15 and to develop their reading skills.
The project aims at an enhanced reading experience, thanks to the opportunities made available by digital technologies. The Living Book is about a strategy to increase positive interaction among three activities: reading books (on paper or in digital), researching or producing related contents, stimulating social activities centered on reading.
