The essay aims to analyze some of the issues, that are linked to the edition of Le Cinque rose di Jennifer by Annibale Ruccello (1980), published in 2022 (edited by Vincenzo Caputo, Edizioni di Storia e Letteratura). In fact specific passages in Ruccello's work allow for a more general reflection on the challenges of a theatrical commentary, especially when dealing with a work that is relatively recent in chronological terms.
