Memorie di Adriano, staged by Maurizio Scaparro in 1989 in the setting of Hadrian’s Villa, is a spoken play centered on the main actor. Nonetheless, it also gives space to the mute character of the young boy beloved by emperor Hadrian. Antinous is played by a renowned dancer, Eric Vu An, who in the final part of the play is also the protagonist of a dance turn, which depicts Adriano’s memories as well as his reflections about death, which is a major theme of the drama.Metrics
