Abstract

An introduction to the meeting. Typical of Nora are the many layers, that testify the long life of the town. In the central area. The excavations of the Milan University have shown at least 7 urban phases, one on the other, each with own aspects. For this reason too, Nora was always an ideal stage for young archaeologists. Many of them show here the results of their researches.

Author Biography

Giorgio Bejor, Università degli Studi di Milano

Giorgio Bejor, Professor in Archaeology and History of Art of Greece at the University of Milan, is Scientific Director of LANX, the electronic journal of the Scuola di Specializzazione in Beni Archeologici of the University of Milan and former Director of the same School. He is above all interested in sculpture, architecture and town planning. He have directed many archaeological excavations in Italy, Greece, Turkey and Syria. He is now the Director of the excavations of the University of Milan at Nora (Cagliari, Sardinia, IT), Gortyn (Crete, Greece) and Kyme (Turkey).
