Abstract

In June 2013, a pluriannual project has been started aimed to study the entire complex of the Imperial Villa of Tiberius at Sperlonga (LT), under the direction of Prof. Fabrizio Slavazzi (Università degli Studi di Milano) and in accordance with the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Lazio. Initial investigations conducted by the team of the University of Milan, made it possible to draw up a sustained preliminary program of action that will lead in the future to investigate all the structures currently in light and promote the excavation of the areas still unexplored and the study of materials found in old and new digs.

Author Biography

Daniele Capuzzo, University of Milan

Daniele Capuzzo achieved his Post-graduate Archaeology Degree at the Post Graduate Master School of Archaeology of the University of Milan in 2012. Since 2005 he has been taking part to the activity of the research team of Prof. Giorgio Bejor at Gortyna (Crete) and since 2008 he has been working with the Archaeological Italian Mission at Kyme Eolica – MAIKE in Turkey. Since 2013 he has been taking part to the activity of the research team of Prof. Fabrizio Slavazzi at Sperlonga (LT). He is the founding member of an archaeological society named Archeosfera S.r.l.s. His research fields are greek and roman city planning, theatres and baths in Greece, architectural evolution of Hellenistic fortifications in Asia Minor, roman-byzantine lamps.
