Abstract

The central question underlying our reflection is to explore the relationships between epilinguistic ideologies and social media. To do so, we chose to examine the Quebec context through an analysis of a corpus drawn from X, using the phrase “Québec French.” Studied from a discourse analysis perspective and considered as complex intersemiotic objects that nonetheless fall within the broader framework of folk linguistics, the selected tweets show that while epilinguistic ideologies are sometimes reformulated, genuine evolution remains rare.
