Il presente studio riguarda l’espressione del movimento nella produzione discorsiva (Frog story, Mayer 1969) di apprendenti l’italiano L2 adulti. Quest’ultimi differiscono per a) L1 (francese o inglese) e b) per livello interlinguistico (intermedio vs avanzato), due parametri utili per esaminare il ruolo dell’influenza translinguistica in L2 rispetto agli eventi di moto e la sua evoluzione in base al livello di competenza degli apprendenti. I risultati della ricerca mostrano tendenze comuni a tutti gli apprendenti intermedi, indipendentemente dalle proprietà tipologiche delle lingue in contatto, ma anche tracce di influenza translinguistica a livello avanzato se le lingue presentano delle similarità strutturali.

 

The expression of movement by L2 Italian learners with L1 French and English: crossing typological and cognitive factors

 

The current study concerns the expression of motion in discourse (Frog story, Mayer 1969) by adult learners of L2 Italian. The latter differs for a) their L1 (French or English) and b) for their interlinguistic level (intermediate vs advanced), two useful parameters to explore the role of crosslinguistic influence in L2 with respect to motion events and its evolution according to the learners’ proficiency. Results show common tendencies for all the intermediate subjects, independently of the typological properties of language pairs, but also some traces of interlinguistic influence at the advanced level if languages share structural similarities.
