UNA RISORSA EDUCATIVA APERTA PER L’USO DEI CORPORA NELLA CLASSE DI ITALIANO: EXCURSUS STORICO-TEORICO E ANALISI DEI BISOGNI FORMATIVI

Il contributo presenta e discute gli esiti di una rilevazione dei bisogni formativi relativi all’uso dei corpora nella classe di italiano, nel quadro più ampio di un excursus storico-teorico su corpora e didattica delle lingue, data-driven learning(DDL) e risorse educative aperte. Dopo un’introduzione sulle molteplici potenzialità e usi effettivi dei corpora nella didattica delle lingue, il contributo si focalizza sulle caratteristiche specifiche del DDL con esemplificazioni riferite alla lingua italiana, sugli studi relativi alla diffusione e conoscenza del DDL in ambienti di istruzione linguistica, sulle potenzialità delle risorse educative aperte per favorire l’uso dei corpora in classe, e sulla situazione specifica concernente l’ambito della didattica dell’italiano. Il contributo, poi, presenta il progetto che mira a creare una risorsa educativa aperta per agevolare l’uso dei corpora nella classe di italiano. Gli esiti della rilevazione dei bisogni formativi mostrano alcune tendenze generali, in cui il campione indica l’esigenza di imparare concretamente a usare i corpora per creare attività didattiche, soprattutto attraverso il riutilizzo di attività già pronte, e tendenze parzialmente differenziate a seconda della tipologia di rispondente, relative alla tipologia di obiettivo di apprendimento, alla modalità di svolgimento della formazione e alle potenziali difficoltà percepite. I risultati del lavoro svolto sono preziosi ai fini della progettazione e realizzazione della risorsa, pensata per essere creata da docenti, per i docenti stessi.
An open educational resource for the use of corpora in the Italian classroom: historical-theoretical excursus and educational needs analysis The paper presents and discusses the findings of an educational needs analysis concerning the use of corpora in the classroom of Italian language, in the wider context of a historical-theoretical illustration of corpora and second language teaching methods, data-driven learning (DDL) and open educational resources. After an introduction on the multifold potential and actual uses of corpora in language teaching, the paper focuses on the specific characteristics of DDL with examples referred to Italian, on the studies related to the spread and knowledge of DDL in language teaching contexts, on the potential of open educational resources to promote the use of corpora in the classroom, and on the specific situation that characterises Italian language pedagogy today. The paper, then, presents the project aimed at creating an open educational resource to help teachers use corpora in their classrooms. The findings of the educational needs analysis show some general trends, in which the respondents indicate the need to learn how to use corpora in practice to develop learning activities, especially through the reuse of ready-made activities, and partially differentiated trends according to the type of respondent, in relation to type of learning aim, training modality and potential perceived difficulties. The findings are particularly useful for the planning and creation of the resource, which is conceived as created by teachers, for teachers themselves.
