Author Biography

Donna Jo Napoli, Social Justice at SwarthmoreCollege

Donna Jo Napoli is Professor of Linguistics and Social Justice at Swarthmore
College. Previously, she was Professor of Linguistics at U. of Michigan. She teaches and
publishes on spoken and sign languages in theoretical linguistics, cognitive science,
Superlinguistics (on yoga and dance), and sociolinguistics. She’s on a team that
advocates for the language rights of deaf children, publishing in medical journals. She
helps produce ebooks for deaf children: www.swarthmore.edu/donna-jo-napoli.
