Ar(c)tivism and Policing Digital Archive Project
Ar(c)tivism and Policing Digital Archive Launched artivism.ca
Led by Gabriel Friday and Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, 'Ar(c)tivism and Policing' is a digital archival project that centres on the potency of protest art, particularly its role in advocating for change in policing (in Nigeria), bad governance (in Bangladesh), and on an array of systemic issues such as Black Lives Matter, racism and policing (in Canada and USA). It is part of Dr. Afolabi’s Canada Research Chair research project on "Staging Justice,” supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and with partnership from Theatre Emissary International and its partner, Mobile Research Lab.
