The dissolution of the municipalities for mafia: the case of the municipality of Brescello

Abstract

The article deals with the issue of the dissolution of municipal councils due to mafia infiltration. First, it analyses the legislation, pointing out its drawbacks and proposing possible corrective measures. Afterwards, it reconstructs the case of the dissolution of Brescello Municipal Council - the first legislation’s application in Emilia-Romagna - through jurisprudential judgments, institutional acts and local media’s articles.
