Since the murder of Piersanti Mattarella in January 1980 to that of Enrico RizieroGalvanigi in December of the same year, the paper traces back the tragic and complex plot of national and international events of the “cursed year” in Italy. This was an unprecedented year, for the national and international life in Italy, and it was the year when biggest threats against the Republic merged: the last violent terrorist acts and those, equally violent, put on the field by the rising organized crime.
