Professional associations and the mafia. Concrete attitudes in the fight against the mafia infiltration into legal economy: the case of Lombardy

Abstract

The article explores the response of Milan professional associations - in particular of lawyers, accountants and notaries - to the already well known relationship between the mafia and professionals. In the first and second part it offers an overview of the phenomenon of the professional who facilitates mafia organizations and the role that professions play in society. In the third part, the article focuses on the anti-mafia attitude and commitment of professional orders, as self-governing institutions.
