L’articolo indaga la filosofia teatrale di Kant soffermandosi sul significato che vi assume la definizione di teatro quale unione delle altre arti e analizzando le implicazioni estetiche che tale concettualizzazione comporta. In particolare, lo studio conduce, prendendo le mosse dall’apparentemente estrema vicinanza tra Kant e Batteux, a stabilire che la fonte del biasimo morale kantiano nei confronti del teatro e dell’attore vada individuata nella Lettera sugli spettacoli di J.-J.
