INTEGRAZIONE DI TESTO E IMMAGINE NELLA COMUNICAZIONE DIGITALE

Abstract

Il contributo presenta in modo critico i sistemi e le pratiche con cui testo e immagine sono (o non sono) integrati nella comunicazione digitale. Le situazioni descritte riguardano sia la comunicazione in lingua italiana sia, più in generale, il contesto della comunicazione in molte società contemporanee. Vengono inoltre presi in esame due casi particolari: il modo in cui l’integrazione tra testo e immagine viene trattata dai manuali universitari di scrittura e i casi di integrazione tra testo e immagine in un laboratorio di scrittura tenuto presso l’Università di Pisa e dedicato alla stesura di voci di Wikipedia. L’assieme delle esperienze fa ritenere che affrontare in modo consapevole il rapporto tra testo e immagine possa portare a effetti positivi a livello sia educativo sia comunicativo.

Integration of text and image in digital communication 

The paper critically presents the ways and practices by which text and images are, or are not, integrated in contemporary digital communication. The situations described concern both Italian-language communication and, more generally, the context of communication in many contemporary societies. Two particular cases are also examined: the way in which the integration between texts and images is covered by university writing manuals and cases of integration between texts and images in a writing lab taught at the University of Pisa and dedicated to writing Wikipedia entries. Taken together, the experiences suggest that consciously addressing the relationship between text and image can lead to positive effects in a variety of educational and communicative settings
