Nel dibattito sulle lingue ereditarie, la grammatica discorsiva ha ricevuto meno attenzione rispetto ad altri livelli di analisi, come la morfologia o la fonologia. Nel caso delle varietà italo-romanze come lingue ereditarie, esistono pochi studi che trattano specificamente l’uso dei segnali discorsivi o di altri elementi di grammatica discorsiva, presi in prestito o calcati dalla lingua dominante. In questo contributo, ci concentriamo su due contesti migratori distinti, ovvero le comunità italiane di Bedford e Bletchley (Regno Unito). Descriveremo l’uso dei segnali discorsivi provenienti dalla lingua dominante all'interno di discorsi nella lingua ereditaria, analizzando somiglianze e differenze tra i migranti di prima e seconda generazione.
English discursive signals in italoromance varieties as heritage languages. Notes for future research
In the debate on heritage languages, discourse grammar has received less attention in comparison with other levels of analysis such as morphology or phonology. In the case of Italo-Romance varieties as heritage languages, there are few studies that specifically deal with the use of discourse markers or other elements of discourse grammar, borrowed or calqued from the dominant language. In this paper, we focus on two different migratory settings, namely the Italian communities in Bedford and Bletchley (UK). We will describe the use of discourse markers from the dominant language within the heritage language focusing on similarities and differences between migrants belonging to the first and second generation.
