Marzia Lucchesi's book Diritto, Pedagogia e femminismo. Valeria Benetti 1908-1914 is the result of in-depth research on sources and an extensive bibliography and builds a bridge between past and present. This book is of great interest from many perspectives. Not only because the roots of many current problems can be found in the history of women's claims for full legal equality between Italian unification and the early twentieth century, but also because it is the story of the thought and action of a woman who, at the beginning of the twentieth century, courageously joined the feminist‘s efforts to invent ed develop effective tools that would enable women to assume their proper role in the protection and education of children and, in general, of minors and contribute to the improvement of the society.
