In un universo interpretato come sogno da decifrare, la metafisica è lo strumento, secondo Borges, con cui l’uomo tenta di rendere coerente questo sogno. Il pensiero di Eriugena è particolarmente affascinante per Borges, in quanto accetta la sfida della veritigine: un Dio che dal nulla della sua indeterminatezza dà luogo al mondo, dispiegandosi negli archetipi che popolano il sogno dell’universo. Una fantastica metafisica che allontana dall’uomo lo sgomento per la condanna alla propria individualità.Downloads
