Between 1259 and 1277 Lodi was included in the regional domain of the della Torre of Milan. The paper analyzes the forms of this domination, the della Torre’s ties with the social partners of the city and the consensus and the opposition aroused and shows the persistent liveliness of the municipal tradition, destined to be rebuilt after 1277.
