Abstract

The present essay proposes some synthetic and philological reconnaissance on five paradigmatic novels by Grazia Deledda (Elias Portolu, La via del male, Cenere, L'edera and Cosima), which take into account not only the production and transmission of the text studied in its diachrony, but also of circulation and in part of fruition, within the integrated system of literary communication (channels, codes, public, context, cultural institutions). The criticism of the variants has in fact helped the scholar to enter the laboratory of the Sardinian writer (first woman to win the Nobel Prize) and at the same time put it in a position to better understand - through the chain of the analyzed textual tradition (active and characterizing vehicle) - the life and vicissitudes of the work, its fortune, the reception of the public, the different modes of transmission and circulation.
