The appointment of Guglielmo Pusterla as podestà of Genoa (Milan, 1270 august 9th)

Abstract

The article presents a critical edition and a historical and diplomatistic analysis of the instrument of appointment of Gugliemo Pusterla as Genoa’s podestà (August, 9, 1270). The study provides details on the events and the election procedure, the contents of the oath, the formal aspects of Milanese assembly resolutions and how these were certified.
